The Special Governmental Task Force on Drug Abuse was established by the Government and was a Cabinet sub-committee. It is normal Government policy not to publish the reports of Cabinet sub-committees. A comprehensive Press statement issued on 20 September 1983 outlining the main recommendations of the task force.
