Vol. 356 No. 4

Written Answers. - Missing Person.

454.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will use his good office to trace a person (details supplied) who has been missing since September 1984 without any communication with his family; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The consular section of my Department would, as a part of its normal functions, offer whatever advice or help it could to a family of an Irish citizen in tracing the whereabouts of a relative. It would, if possible, pass on a communication from the family to that relative. If the family, or the Deputy on their behalf, contacts my Department with details of the case, it will be looked into. We have no record of having being contacted previously about this case.
