Vol. 356 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

471.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

The late applicant was requested in 1981 to state if he had received a previous grant from my Department in 1971 as records held indicate that a previous grant was paid to a person of the same name and address. No response was received and his widow has now been requested to clarify the matter. Pending this no further action can be taken in the case.

472.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house reconstruction grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Clare.

A house improvement grant under the current scheme cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a statutory condition of the scheme, the work had commenced prior to an inspection of the house. An application by this person under the old scheme was refused because notification of completion of work and a claim for payment was not received in the Department by 30 June 1981 as required under the Housing Regulations, 1980 (as amended).
