asked the Minister for the Environment when payment of a £1,000 new house grant will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house is completed and occupied and that all conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. The inspection will be carried out within the next two weeks.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

A grant of £600 in respect of an additional bedroom was recently paid in this case. On receipt of notification of completion of the bathroom and sewerage works, a further inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the appropriate grants, if in order.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Wexford is entitled to a house improvement grant under the old scheme; and, if not, the reason for this decision.

Under the Housing Regulations, 1980, the latest date for receipt of applications under this scheme was 1 February 1980. There is no record in the Department of the receipt of such application in this case and, accordingly, payment of a grant cannot be considered.
