asked the Minister for the Public Service (a) the number of applications for job-sharing received by each Government Department and Office to date; (b) the grades involved in each Department and Office; (c) the number of males and females involved; (d) the number of married males and married females involved; (e) the number of applications granted by the Department or Office by grade, sex and marital status; (f) the number of applications refused by the Department or Office by grade, sex and marital status and the reasons for each refusal; and (g) the number of applications on hand since 31 December 1984 on which no decision has been reached by the Department or Office by grade, sex and marital status; and the reason no decision has yet been reached in each case.

The information requested by the Deputy is set out in the following tabular statement. The statement shows the position on 31 January 1985 the latest date for which statistics are available. As it is not the practice to classify staff by reference to marital status the information relating to such status sought at (d) to (g) of the Parliamentary Question is not available.
