Vol. 356 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Wexford National Schools.

637.

asked the Minister for Education if remedial teaching facilities will be granted to two national schools (details supplied) in County Wexford; and when a final decision will be made in this regard.

The applications of schools for remedial teaching posts are considered in the context of the priority of need in schools generally and the availability of remedial posts. The application received from the two schools in question for a remedial teaching post, on a shared basis, was not considered sufficiently high in terms of priority of need to warrant the allocation of a remedial teaching post in 1984. The application will be considered again in the light of the further availability of remedial posts.
