Vol. 356 No. 7

Written Answers. - Leasing of Office Accommodation.

573.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if the administration of the family income supplement will require additional office space to be rented by his Department; if so, the amount of space that will be required; the annual rent; the terms of the lease; the fitting-out costs; and the number of people who will be located in the new offices.

Portion of additional accommodation provided for my Department by the Office of Public Works has been allocated to the family income supplement section. The amount of space involved is approximately 1,800 sq. ft. and the number of staff is 23. Leasing arrangements are a matter for the Office of Public Works and it is understood from that office that it is not the practice to disclose details of leases including rent. The fitting out costs pertaining to the family income supplement section are minimal, consisting mainly of furniture.
