asked the Taoiseach the value of all clothing imported into the country during the years 1982, 1983 and 1984.

Imports of clothing are covered by division 84 of the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC Rev. 2), i.e., "articles of apparel and clothing accessories". Total imports under this heading amounted to £271.1 million in 1982 and £292.3 million in 1983. The provisional figure for 1984 is £325.6 million.
