Vol. 356 No. 10

Written Answers. - Adult Literacy Project.

514.

asked the Minister for the Environment if all equipment listed in his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 468 of 12 February 1985 is now in the literacy resource centre for which it was allocated; if it is being used for the purposes of the inner city adult literacy project; and, if not, the reason.

I have been informed by the City of Dublin VEC that the equipment referred to, except the printing machine, room furniture and one filing cabinet, is in the resource centre located in the Curriculum Development Unit, 28 Westland Row, Dublin 2, and is being used for the purposes of the inner city adult literacy project. One filing cabinet is located in a local school centre for use by the literacy organiser responsible for that area. The other equipment is at present in VEC premises in St. Stephen's school, Northumberland Road due to lack of space in the resource centre. I have been assured that the printing machine will be brought into full use as soon as suitable premises become available and personnel have been trained to operate it.
