Vol. 356 No. 10

Written Answers. - Group Water Supply Schemes.

532.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position regarding the Mannin group water supply scheme, County Galway.

533.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in deciding an application for additional grants made by Mannin group water supply scheme, County Galway.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 532 and 533 together. State grants of £24,048 were allocated to this group on 5 March 1985. Work may commence on the scheme provided a road opening licence has been obtained from Galway County Council and the necessary insurances are taken out by the group. Additional grants may be allocated for the scheme following clarification by the group of certain matters relating to its grant application.

534.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position regarding a group water scheme (details supplied) in County Galway.

The group's request for a special contribution towards the cost of headworks in their proposed scheme is being examined in my Department prior to being referred to Galway County Council for consideration. I understand that the group is also examining the possibility of increasing its membership with a view to making the scheme financially viable.
