A special area of residence analysis of the live register is carried out quarterly on the second last Friday of February, May, August and November. On 23 November 1984 the latest date for which figures are available, there were 3,517 persons on the live register who were resident in County Kilkenny. Of these, 432 were on the live register at Waterford City Employment Exchange. On 18 November 1983 the corresponding figures were 3,369 and 359 respectively.
