Proposals for the improvement of the Ballina-Foxford road at Ballynahaglish were received in my Department in February 1984 and were approved on 16 July 1984. I understand from Mayo County Council that they considered a number of alternative proposals for the section of the road in question before the preferred line was submitted to the Department.
