Vol. 357 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Donegal Road.

537.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has any plans to reclassify the road from Carndonagh to Quigley's Point, County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

As I indicated in a reply to a parliamentary question from the Deputy on 4 December 1984 the national primary and secondary road system is now generally regarded as established, having been formally declared in 1977 following a long process of evaluation and consultation. The road from Carndonagh to Quigley's Point is designated as regional road R. 240. This road does not warrant designation as a national primary or secondary road, having regard to the criteria used for such designation.
