Vol. 357 No. 3

Written Answers. - Disease Eradication Regulations.

627.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will review the regulations regarding the disposal of livestock which have been positively diagnosed as reactors to TB or brucellosis and, in particular, if he will redefine the role which the factory agent plays in meeting the specific time limits now laid down; and if he will make a statement on the case of a person (details supplied) in County Clare.

My Department are at present engaged in a comprehensive review of disease eradication regulations. The Deputy may be assured that due regard will be had in this review to the role of the factory agent. A reactor grant of £225 will be paid within the next few days to the person named.
