Vol. 357 No. 3

Written Answers. - Milk Cessation Scheme.

629.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for Agriculture if an application for participation in the milk cessation scheme can be withdrawn in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

Yes. The application of the person indicated has been withdrawn.

630.

Mr. Coughlan

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware of the widespread disquiet at the outflow of milk of up to 3 per cent from some co-operatives in the north west region; and if he will take immediate action to curtail this development.

Arising from the milk cessation scheme — to which it is assumed the Deputy is referring — no co-operative in the north west region will have its quota reduced by more than 1 per cent. This situation is not disproportionate in comparison with co-operatives in other parts of the country.
