Vol. 357 No. 3

Written Answers. - Dunnes Stores Dispute.

654.

asked the Minister for Labour arising out of his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 512 of 6 March 1985 if he will clarify precisely the dialogue which has been established between the parties in the Dunnes Stores dispute as the union involved is unaware of any such dialogue; and if he will now appoint a mediator.

I would repeat what I said on 6 March. Dialogue exists between the parties. Because of the difficult nature of this dispute such dialogue is by way of third parties. Again, I would urge both sides to adopt a positive approach with a view to reaching a settlement.
