Vol. 357 No. 7

Written Answers. - Export of Beef.

825.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if his Department is aware that beef, bought and processed outside Ireland, is credited to Irish export tonnage to Third World markets and if he will make a statement in the matter.

I am not so aware. Some beef bought and processed in Northern Ireland is exported through ports in the Republic. Such beef is recorded as an import when it crosses the Border and as an export when it leaves this country.
