Vol. 357 No. 7

Written Answers. - Killenarden (Dublin) Residents Association.

877.

asked the Minister for Labour if approval can now be issued to the youth employment application (details supplied) submitted by the Killenarden residents association.

886.

asked the Minister for Labour if he will give details of (1) the grant approved to Killenarden estate residents' association under his Department's teamwork scheme and (2) the work involved; and when work will commence.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 877 and 886 together. I conveyed approval, on 10 April 1985, for a grant under my Department's teamwork scheme to the Killenarden estate residents' association. The amount of grant approved is £12,830, comprising £11,830 for wages and £1,000 for materials. This grant will enable the association to employ five young people and a supervisor for 26 weeks.

The work involved includes a variety of environmental tasks — removing graffiti, tree planting, tidying green areas and cleaning backlanes. I understand that work will commence within the next week or two.
