Vol. 357 No. 7

Written Answers. - Ballymun Community Workshops.

883.

asked the Minister for Labour the number of trainees catered for in the Ballymun community workshop; and if it is proposed to expand this facility or to provide an additional community workshop in the area of Ballymun.

There are two community workshops currently operating in the Ballymun area, the Ballymun community workshop and the Ballark community workshop. The Ballymun community workshop commenced operations in November 1983. To date 63 people have been trained and there are 30 persons in training at present.

The Ballark community workshop commenced operations in July 1984. A total of 33 people have been trained and another 35 persons are in training at present. There are no plans to expand these facilities in Ballymun. A community workshop is, however, scheduled for opening in July 1985 in Finglas west with capacity for 40 trainees at any one time.
