There are at present four estates in County Limerick, comprising a total area of 145 hectares, in the hands of the Land Commission. Negotiations to acquire these estates were initiated between 1974 and 1982. It is hoped to dispose of all of them in the normal way within the next few months. Land Commission staff from a number of counties, including Limerick, are being assigned to duties in connection with the farm tax.
