Vol. 357 No. 12

Written Answers. - Western Package Implementation.

623.

asked the Minister for Agriculture in the light of the findings of the recent ACOT study that lack of capital is impeding infrastructural and land improvement and, in general, the contribution of such schemes in the western package to the Connemara region, if he considers it appropriate that more flexible financial provisions should be a feature of schemes designed to bolster agriculture in the region.

A review of the programme under which the western package is operated will take place later this year and in that review consideration will be given to any changes that would render implementation of the measure more effective.
