Written Answers. - Cabra (Dublin) Proposed School.

asked the Minister for Education when tenders for the building of the proposed school for multiple handicap at Cabra was advertised; the closing date for the tenders; and when the Commissioners of Public Works will be in a position to make a final recommendation on such tenders.

asked the Minister for Education the reasons for the delay in the issue of her Department's approval for the tender in respect of the construction of the proposed new school for hearing-impaired children at the Dominican Convent, Cabra.

asked the Minister for Education if she is aware of the great delay in relation to the proposed new building for St. Mary's school for hearing-impaired children (details supplied) in Dublin 7; when the contract will be placed for this school; and the reason there is such a delay.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 751, 752 and 753 together.

My Department have under consideration a report dated 4 April 1985 from the Commissioners of Public Works on the tenders received for the building of the proposed school for hearing-impaired children with additional handicaps at Cabra, Dublin 7, and a decision on the placing of a contract will be conveyed to the school authorities as soon as possible.

Information as to when tenders were advertised and the closing date for tenders is being sought from the commissioners, and will be conveyed to the Deputies as soon as the commissioners have replied.
