Vol. 358 No. 1

Written Answers. - Redundancy Payments.

765.

asked the Minister for Labour the reason for the delay in having redundancy payments made to employees of a firm (details supplied) in County Waterford as promised in a letter from his Department on 23 October 1984.

Statutory redundancy lump sums were paid from the redundancy fund to 34 former employees of the company on 21 November 1984. Applications for payment of minimum notice awards under the Protection of Employees (Employers' Insolvency) Act, 1984, in respect of 30 former employees were received by the Department on 26 April 1985 and are being dealt with as quickly as possible.
