Vol. 358 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

539.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in County Wexford will receive his first instalment of a £3,000 mortgage subsidy as his £1,000 grant was paid in September 1984 and all relevant details have been forwarded to the Department since 10 January 1985.

When the person named submits the appropriate claim forms duly completed and certified by the relevant lending agency, arrangements will be made for payment of the subsidy.

540.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow.

The application in this case is in respect of the installation of water and sewerage facilities and the building of a chimney and bathroom. A grant cannot be allowed for the building of the chimney because, contrary to a statutory condition for the payment of a chimney grant, this facility already exists in the house. Grants for the installation of water and sewerage facilities and the building of the bathroom will be approved in this case on receipt of evidence of planning permission for the septic tank which was requested in May, 1983. A further request has now issued to the applicant in the matter.
