Vol. 358 No. 2

Written Answers. - Tax Refund.

545.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in paying a refund of tax to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that the taxpayer's address, as supplied by the Deputy, differs from that which the inspector of taxes has on record. The last claim from the taxpayer for repayment of tax was received in the tax office on 11 January 1985 and a cheque in settlement of that claim was issued to him on 28 January, 1985. According to the information available to the Inspector of Taxes, there are at present no outstanding claims for repayment of tax in this case for either 1983-84 or 1984-85. The inspector will now communicate directly with the taxpayer to clarify the position.
