Vol. 358 No. 3

Written Answers. - Manufacture of Military Equipment.

521.

asked the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism if he will give details of all companies located in Ireland and manufacturing military equipment or components for sale to foreign countries.

There are no records in my Department of any companies manufacturing equipment or components for export which can be classified as being specifically for military use, although some products produced, e.g. aircraft arrester systems or electronics components, could perhaps have a military as well as civilian use. The exports of such products are, however, subject to control under the control of exports legislation operated by my Department.
