Vol. 358 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

567.

asked the Minister for the the Environment if a house improvement grant will be approved for persons (details supplied) in County Wexford.

It is not possible at this stage to indicate whether a grant will be approved in this case. It has been found necessary to have certain aspects in relation to the grant application further clarified on the ground. On receipt of the relevant report from the inspector, the matter will be finalised as quickly as possible.

568.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position with regard to a new house grant application in the name of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare.

The application in this case was rejected in October 1983 because the floor area of the house exceeded the maximum allowable for grant purposes which is 125 sq. metres (1346 sq. ft.). Following the receipt of a revised house plan from the applicant, his file has again been referred to the inspector to measure the floor area of the house as built. The inspector was unable to gain admittance to the house when he called last month. A further inspection, by appointment, will now be arranged and on receipt of the inspector's report the case will be further considered.

569.
