Vol. 358 No. 8

Written Answers. - Limerick Compulsory Purchase Order.

559.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give details of the present situation regarding the compulsory purchase order in respect of the residents of the houses at New Road, Thomondgate, Limerick.

A number of objections have been received by me in relation to the Thomondgate Area No. 3 Compulsory Purchase Order, 1984 which was submitted to me for confirmation on 1 April 1985. Some of the objections are on behalf of residents of New Road, Thomondgate. I am legally obliged to have a public local inquiry held into the objections to the order before giving my decision and it will be open to all objectors to be present or represented at the inquiry. The necessary arrangements for the holding of the inquiry are being made and all those who have objected to the order will be given approximately one month's notice of the date and venue.
