Vol. 359 No. 1

Written Answers. - Ros a' Mhíl (Galway) Harbour.

453.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry if it is proposed to establish a harbour board committee for Ros a' Mhíl harbour, County Galway and, if so, when.

By statutory order made on 3 June 1981, under the Fishery Harbour Centres Act, 1968, Ros a' Mhíl was declared a fishery harbour centre and as such responsibility for its management, operation and development rests with me. There is no provision in the Act for the establishment of a harbour board committee.

454.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry when the next meeting of Coiste Comhairle Ceibh Ros a' Mhíl, Connemara, County Galway, will be held.

455.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry the amount provided in the 1985 Estimates for harbour improvement works at Ros a' Mhíl harbour, Connemara, County Galway.

456.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry the present position regarding the proposed improvement works at Ros a' Mhíl Harbour, Connemara, County Galway.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 454 to 456 inclusive, together. The present position about the proposed harbour improvement works at Ros a' Mhíl is that I am awaiting receipt of the overall plan and estimate of cost which is being prepared by the Office of Public Works.

Coiste Comhairle Céibh Ros a' Mhíl will be reconvened by me when the plans for the development scheme of the harbour have been received and considered in my Department. Pending receipt of the plans and estimate of cost no specific sum for harbour improvement works at Ros a' Mhíl has been provided in the Estimates for 1985. However, a contingency sum was included to cover urgent works that may be necessary at this and other harbours.
