On 27 November 1984 I approved the working drawings submitted by Laois County Council for this scheme which will be carried out by the council's direct labour force. I also sanctioned the raising of a loan by the council from the local loans fund on 10 December 1984. It is now entirely a matter for the council to advance the scheme to the construction stage.
