The following table sets out the amount of motor tax revenue collected by Kilkenny County Council motor taxation offices in respect of vehicles in Kilkenny city and county.

The figures in column 3 comprise fees for driver licensing, vehicles testing, trailer licensing and other miscellaneous items.
In 1985, it is estimated that a total of £2.7 million will be collected by Kilkenny County Council motor taxation office, of which £2.57 million will relate to motor tax.
The annual census of vehicles under current licence is taken each year at the 30 September. The numbers of vehicles licensed in Kilkenny on that date in 1983 and 1984 were 21,997 and 22,245 respectively. Figures for 1985 are not yet available.
