Vol. 359 No. 9

Written Answers. - Medical Expenses Tax Relief.

95.

asked the Minister for Finance when a person (details supplied) in County Carlow will be granted relief for medical expenses for the tax years 1982-83 and 1983-84.

The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that the inspector of taxes will not be able to process the claims for relief in respect of health expenses which were lodged by the taxpayer in July 1984, until such time as he receives from the taxpayer completed returns of income for the years 1982-83 and 1983-84.

Following receipt of the health expenses claims, the return of income forms for the relevant years were issued to the taxpayer for completion but have not been returned. The inspector has now communicated with the taxpayer in the matter.
