Vol. 359 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Limerick River Drainage.

114.

asked the Minister for Finance whether it is the intention of the Office of Public Works to proceed with the drainage of the Mulcair River, County Limerick, during 1985 or whether it is proposed to start during 1986.

Work on the design of the drainage scheme for the Mulcair catchment has been suspended following a Government decision to halt all arterial drainage planning pending the outcome of a review of arterial drainage policy. The review, prepared by the Commissioners of Public Works, is under consideration prior to the submission of proposals to the Government. In the circumstances, I cannot say when a scheme for the catchment might commence.
