Vol. 360 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Dublin Road Improvement.

38.

asked the Minister for the Environment if approval can now be given to the improvement scheme, including public lighting, urgently needed for the Blessington Road from the end of the Tallaght by-pass to the junction of the Saggart-Rathcoole Road submitted by Dublin County Council on 5 February 1985, having regard to the fact that this is an extremely dangerous stretch of road which has been the scene of very many serious accidents and having regard to the funds allocated for road improvement purposes of this nature in the national plan Building on Reality, 1985-87.

Proposals for the improvement of the Tallaght-Blessington Road (N81) from Cheeverstown Road junction westwards to the townland of Gibbons are the subject of engineering examination in my Department and I hope to be in a position to convey a decision on them to Dublin County Council in the near future.
