Vol. 360 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Galway Road Improvement.

46.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware of the very serious danger being caused to children and pedestrians on the narrow stretch of the national primary road, known as the Cut at Clarenbridge, County Galway; and if he proposes to allocate funds requested by Galway County Council for the improvement of this stretch of road in 1986, in view of the imminent danger to children walking on the carriageway of the national primary road at this point.

Galway County Council are the road authority responsible and it would be a matter for them to prepare proposals for the improvement of this section of road. No such proposals have been received in my Department and accordingly the question of providing finance does not arise at present.
