Vol. 360 No. 1

Written Answers. - Westmeath School Accommodation.

164.

asked the Minister for Education if she is aware of the acute need for extra space at a school (details supplied) in County Westmeath; if she is aware that cloakrooms, prefabs and so on have to be used for schooling purposes; when the necessary signing of documents will take place; and if she will ensure that the prefabs will be relocated during the summer holiday period.

My Department is in consultation with the Commissioners of Public Works on the question of inviting tenders for the provision of additional accommodation at the school referred to, and a decision will be conveyed to the school authorities on this matter as soon as possible. It is not possible at this stage to say when the signing of documents may take place. The Commissioners are being asked to report on the question of relocating the prefabs and the Department will also communicate with the school authorities in this regard.
