The whole field of human fertilisation and embryology has developed rapidly in recent years and has brought into focus internationally a whole range of complex legal, ethical and moral questions which were unforeseen in previously enacted legislation.
In my view it will be necessary to review the legal position in this country in the light of these developments and I intend to recommend accordingly to the Government.
