The costs incurred by Aer Rianta in providing the combined security and fire services at Dublin, Shannon and Cork airports over the past five years is as follows:
Year |
£ million |
1980 |
3.6 |
1981 |
4.4 |
1982 |
5.3 |
1983 |
5.3 |
1984 |
5.8 |
Of these amounts, Aer Rianta estimate that 65 per cent - 70 per cent could be allocated to security costs. These figures do not include costs incurred by other agencies, e.g. the Army or Garda, or by airlines.
