Vol. 360 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

27.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan will receive payment of a £1,000 grant and a mortgage subsidy.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house is completed and occupied and that all the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. The applicant was not at home when an inspector called recently and, a further inspection, by appointment will be carried out as soon as possible. Payment of the first instalment of the mortgage subsidy cannot be made until the grant has been paid and the applicant submits the relevant claim form, duly certified.

28.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house improvement grant was not granted to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; when this will be paid; and the amount which will be paid.

This application was rejected because, contrary to a statutory condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. The applicant has been so informed.

29.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house improvement grant has not yet been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; when this will be paid; and the amount which will be paid.

As my Department has not yet been notified of the completion of the works, to which the grants of £1,200 approved relate, the question of payment has not arisen.
