Dublin Corporation, Dún Laoghaire Corporation, and Cork Corporation are empowered under special Acts to assume responsibility for maintenance of branch pipes which are within their own functional areas. I am having the legislation governing this matter examined with a view to formulating proposals for any necessary extension of these powers.
