Vol. 360 No. 6

Written Answers. - Caherciveen (Kerry) Hospital.

51.

asked the Minister for Health if he will make arrangements with the Southern Health Board to ensure that under no circumstances will Caherciveen District Hospital be closed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The administration of Caherciveen District Hospital is a matter for the Southern Health Board. I understand from the board that as part of a general review of its budgetary situation the board intended to close a number of beds at the hospital. However, a decision to close these beds has been deferred until after the next meeting of the Southern Health Board which is scheduled for Monday, 15 July 1985.
