Vol. 361 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Monaghan Garda Station.

137.

asked the Minister for Finance if officials from the Office of Public Works examined the old school house in Inniskeen; if they found it suitable for a Garda station; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

139.

asked the Minister for Finance when it was decided to open a Garda station at Inniskeen, County Monaghan, and the reason for the delay.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 137 and 139 together.

The Department of Justice formally approved the re-establishment of a Garda station at Inniskeen, County Monaghan, in March 1982. A number of sites/premises in the area including the old school house have been examined but none has proved suitable. Until such time as a suitable site or premises becomes available, I cannot say when accommodation can be provided for the gardaí at Inniskeen.
