Vol. 361 No. 1

Written Answers. - Arbour Hill (Dublin) Houses.

101.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will consider reopening negotiations with Dublin Corporation in relation to the possibility of selling the four houses at Arbour Hill which are at present being used as married quarters; and if he will ensure that a suitable agreement is made with Dublin Corporation in this regard.

My Department would be willing to transfer the four houses in question to Dublin Corporation provided the corporation agree to pay a consideration which reflects the value of the houses. However, I understand that the corporation are not prepared to offer more than a nominal amount for the houses. In these circumstances there appears to be no basis for entering into negotiations with the corporation regarding the sale of the houses.
