Vol. 361 No. 2

Written Answers. - Gorey (Wexford) School.

19.

asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position regarding the new second-level schools complex at Gorey, County Wexford; and if her Department now intends to seek an alternative site to the one recently confirmed.

The position in relation to the proposed new second-level school complex at Gorey is that agreement has been reached recently with the school authorities regarding the range of accommodation to be provided and the appointment of the design team. An essential ingredient of the design process in all school building cases is the preparation of a feasibility study by the school authorities' design team in respect of the proposed school site. In this case it is proposed to have a meeting between officials of my Department and the school authorities and their design team as soon as possible to initiate that study. Pending the completion of this feasibility study the question of an alternative site does not arise.
