Footnotes:

(a) Includes a substantial proportion of land which for various reasons e.g. subject to grazing or turbary rights or sale/exchange proceedings is not immediately available for planting.

(b) Generally unsuitable for planting but with some potential for wildlife, amenity development, etc. The planting in future years will be carried o ut on the plantable reserve and on newly acquired land.

(c) My Department do not employ part time workers; temporary workers are employed full time for a limited period. Temporary workers are employed for seasonal work or to meet short term needs. Some workers were employed in County Donegal earlier in the year and their term of employment has expired. The numbers given above relate only to those currently employed. Equally the requirement for permanent workers at forests may vary from year to year.

(d) Figures in first four columns show the position at 31 December 1984.
