Vol. 361 No. 6

Written Answers. - Rosslare Strand Beach.

66.

asked the Minister for Communications if he will ensure that beach nourishment is provided on Rosslare Strand immediately to protect Rosslare village from the sea; and if it is his intention to ensure that CIE carry out their responsibilities towards the solution of this problem.

As the Deputy is aware, CIE are responsible for the provision of beach material for the nourishment of Rosslare Strand and the board are aware of their responsibility in the matter. I understand that the Office of Public Works recently completed a detailed study of the condition of the strand, the implications of which are at present being evaluated in relation to the requirement for the provision of further beach material.
