asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that a Garda Síochána contract for the supply of telecommunications equipment has gone to a West German company; if he is aware of the possible loss of jobs at the Finglas firm, Telecommunications Limited as a result of the loss of the contract; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Limerick East): The contract in question was awarded, in accordance with normal Government contracts procedures and with the approval of the Government Contracts Committee, to the company which submitted the most economically advantageous tender.
