asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to provide funds to enable Laois County Council to carry our very urgent and necessary reinstatement of housing stock at O'Moore Place, Portlaoise, Laois, one of the oldest housing estates in the Midlands; and if he will arrange to give top priority to this important proposal.

A proposal from Laois County Council to carry out repairs and improvements to houses at O'Moore Place, Portlaoise is under consideration in my Department. However, I will not be in a position to make a final decision in the matter until additional information of a technical nature which the local authority have been asked to supply is furnished to my Department.
