Vol. 361 No. 7

Written Answers. - Kerry Television Reception.

69.

asked the Minister for Communications if he will arrange for Radio Telefís Éireann to improve the television reception from Camp to Brandon PO, in County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

This is primarily a matter for RTE. They state that because of the nature of the terrain on this part of the peninsula it is possible that individual viewers in the Camp and Brandon PO areas experience reception difficulties. In the past RTE have investigated individual cases, particularly in the Camp and surrounding areas, and gave advice on positioning of aerials to make the best use of available signals. They state that such advice is still available.

RTE are aware of a particular interference problem in the area south of Brandon and they are in the process of contacting the local community to see can it be resolved.
