Vol. 361 No. 9

Written Answers. - Tax Rebate.

92.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason a person (details supplied) in County Wexford did not receive a tax rebate which he applied for in the 1983-84 tax year when he was made redundant in October 1983.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer held two employments in the course of the year 1983-84. One of his employers went into liquidation and it is necessary to obtain confirmation of the pay and tax deducted by that employer during the year. This information is now being sought by the inspector. As soon as it is received a review of the taxpayer's liability for 1983-84 will be made and any necessary adjustment in his tax position for that year will be effected as soon as possible.
